04 / GOOD TO KNOW
A few details.
Then you’re all set.
The prize, the matching moment, and what’s coming next.
What can I win?
Choose a $1,000 SHOP LOCAL Michigan Places gift card or $500 cash.
How does the matching prize work?
If someone you referred, or someone they referred, wins the grand prize, you can receive a matching prize of your own. Matching prizes follow two referral levels and each recipient must be eligible. A referral does not guarantee a win. Official rules will be available before entries open.
Where can I use the gift card?
The gift card is for SHOP LOCAL Michigan Places, with products from local and national merchants. It is not a promise of acceptance at every business in the LOCAL Michigan Places directory.
What about LOCAL Insider commissions?
LOCAL Insider commissions are a separate program. You can earn CASH commissions when Merchants that you, your referrals or their referrals introduce become active and paying, subject to the LOCAL Insider Program Terms.
Do I need a testimonial to enter?
No. The daily entry is free and needs no testimonial. Testimonials earn extra entries: each approved testimonial of 50 words or more about a LOCAL business that you write in a month adds one entry to that month’s drawing, up to five. Whether it’s positive or negative never affects approval.
How do streaks work?
Enter five days in a row and you earn three bonus entries, then three more on every fifth day of the same run (the 10th, 15th and so on). Missing a day starts a new run. A run carries on from one month into the next.
What are the weekly prizes?
Each week, Monday to Sunday Arizona time, the three members with the most entries earned that week across every LOCAL City Places state win a SHOP LOCAL gift card: $25, $10 or $5. A tie goes to whoever reached that count first. Weekly prizes don’t affect your chances in the monthly drawing.
How do referral bonus chances work?
Once entries open, each direct referral who confirms their first entry in a month gives you one bonus chance in that month’s drawing. You only need to accept that month’s Official Rules; no testimonial is needed. Activate referral bonuses from your CITYWIN dashboard; you don’t need to add a daily entry to activate them. Indirect referrals count toward matching prizes, but do not add bonus chances.
